What's important to you when you're selling or even buying your home? Good question, huh? And if you haven't thought about it, you should, as your home is most likely the biggest investment you will ever make. At least it is for most of us.

 

I can tell you with over 15+ years of experience serving clients and their needs, the things that are most important have never changed, no matter what business you’re dealing in. Knowing how to get top dollar for your just-listed home, timely follow-up, contract and sales negotiation, marketing, and a solid understanding of the market are just some of the things needed to ensure you come out on top.

 

Not all agents are the same; if they were, they would all have the same number of listings or would be working with the same number of buyers. Most agents are passive in trying to sell your home or passive in working with their respective buyers.

What does that mean? Most agents sit back and think that by doing a couple of open houses, putting your home on the MLS, or putting a fancy sign in front of your home that you’ll get top dollar for your home. If you're looking to purchase a home, most agents don't preview the home before they walk you in. I know first hand how it feels when you walk in and think, "this is not what we told him/her, what we were looking for". Most agents, when you get into contract, are content that the deal is done. They won't do what's necessary to get you the best. Isn’t this what most agents do? Just waste your time and your money, as you are the one paying the ultimate price. These are passive agents and account for more than 90% of all agents out there. I vow to never be that!
